2017 Year in Review
This is the second year since the release of my book Japanese Woodblock Print Workshop. It was again busy with classes, exhibitions, lectures and book signings. The high point was a trip to Hawaii for the Third International Mokuhanga Conference, where I gave a paper and taught a class at Donkey Mill Art Center. In July I taught at Art Print Residence, outside Barcelona, and in August enjoyed a residency at the 12th Century Studenica Monastery in central Serbia, a Unesco World Heritage Site. In October I started work on new laser cut blocks of insect mandala patterns at the University of Orono in Maine. Orono Photos

My work and book were represented at the EAB Editions/Artists’ Book Fair in Chelsea, NY by publisher Purgatory Pie Press, presenting our collaboration, Pests of Public Importance, 3 x 2.25 x .35 inch accordion book.

I gave talks and signed books at each of these places. February 1, 2018 I will speak at Union Collee in Schenectady, New York, at the mokuhanga exhibition Impressions Past and Present, curated by Sandy Wimer.
