April 4-6, 2024 Fifth International Mokuhanga Conference, Echizen
As a board member, I helped hang one of the eight exhibitions and edited some of the English text, but the on site work was done by a small group of dedicated organizers in Japan who made this an incredibly valuable conference for 120 visiting artists from around the world.
I spent almost a month in Japan, traveling to Nara to visit sumi ink makers after the conference and spending time in Kyoto, Kamakura and Tokyo to see more art and visit friends. I am grateful for the warm welcome.
February 2, 2024 Barbara Mason at Golden Road Arts created a half hour video documented a printing demonstration of blocks I cut at Mokuhanga Project Space residency. In a second short video I discuss my book Japanese Woodblock Print Workshop.
April 13, 2023 Curator and art historian Ann Schafer interviewed me about my woodcuts for her endlessly informative Platemark Podcast, Prints and the Printmaking Ecosystem.

MOKUHANGA PROJECT SPACE RESIDENCY
January 21-31, 2024, Walla Walla, Washington. Organized by Keiko Hara, the Project Space presents various programs related to mokuhanga. I spent ten productive days working with three other artists: Charles Spitzack, Kathleen Hargrave and Andrew Stone, with impeccable technical assistance from artist Benjamin Selby who printed a series of 22 x 17 inch architectural backgrounds for my woodcut birds.
