April Vollmer will give a public talk A Life in Woodcut
on Thursday afternoon, December 5, followed by a demonstration at the closing reception of California Society of Printmakers 110th Membership Exhibition at Santa Rosa Junior College’s Robert F. Agrella Art Gallery, Santa Rosa, California, where her work is also included in the exhibition.
The talk is a review of a career revolving around Japanese woodcut, with a focus on residencies and opportunities for artists. A video of the talk will be posted at www.aprilvollmer.com in December.
Prints to Remember, April Vollmer’s review of the nine exhibitions at the Fifth International Mokuhanga Conference, Echizen, was published in the October issue of the Journal of the Print World.

Updated website aprilvollmer.com includes more artwork and events, along with a new Mokuhanga Resource Page; a YouTube channel holds interviews and demonstrations. A database of artwork is in progress too, an ongoing organizational project that compliments the website.

New Work: The Flight of Birds: Circling, 15 x 11 inch mokuhanga, is the first in a series of prints for exhibit at the Honolulu Museum of Art summer 2025.
